Announcing this years lineup:
Chi Rho
Chi Rho is Wake Forest’s all-male Christian a cappella group and seeks to spread Christ’s love through its music. Founded in 1992 by a group of Wake Forest students that saw a need for a music-based ministry on campus, the group has recorded more than a dozen albums over the past 26 years and has toured throughout the United States. Chi Rho has also toured internationally in France and in a missionary role in Zambia. The group’s name, which is pronounced “”Kai Ro,”” is formed by the first two letters of the Greek spelling of Christ. Chi Rho is founded upon the tenets of music, ministry, and brotherhood, three facets of the group which are treated as equal in their importance. But above all, Chi Rho seeks to spread the love of God to as many people as it can, in as many ways possible.
Demon Divas
The Demon Divas is Wake Forest University’s all female, premiere a Capella group. The group consists of about 16 young women and was founded in 1998. Since then, the Divas have recorded six albums and perform at numerous on and off campus events. After a year of making the most of the pandemic, we are incredibly grateful to be back performing on stage and sharing music with a live audience!
Innuendo
Innuendo is Wake Forest’s original co-ed a cappella group and has been on campus for more than 20 years! We perform many types of music but mostly adhere to the pop/alternative genre. Auditions take place at the beginning of both the fall and spring. We strive to create a diverse and inclusive environment that shares the joy of music with the Wake Forest community.
Lost in Translation
L.I.T (Lost in Translation) was established in 2010 and was WFU’s first KPOP DANCE CLUB. We also include diverse dances like URBAN, HIPHOP, JAZZ FUNK and other dance types. For 2021, LIT plans to incorporate more dance types such as LOCKING, WAACKING and SEXY JAZZ.
LIT has performed on various stages within WFU and in various competitions outside. In the 2018 NC Kpop Contest, LIT won the championship with outstanding performance and choreography.
Minor Variation
Minor Variation is Wake Forest University’s all-women Christian a cappella ensemble. We perform at various on-campus events as well as at local churches and community gatherings. Our latest album “Anchored” was released in May of 2020, and we look forward to producing our next studio album in the spring of 2022! This year, Minor Variation is celebrating 23 years as a sisterhood dedicated to making music and growing closer together!
Momentum Crew
We are Momentum Crew, a diverse hip-hop based student-led dance group that focuses on self expression and the overall acceptance of others in our diverse community. We come together twice a week to perfect our dances that are choreographed by members of the crew themselves. Through dance we are able to represent our unique identities and abilities all over campus and showcase them to our fellow peers, further bringing the Wake Forest community together. We dance with our hearts and our minds, we are Momentum Crew.
The MeloDeacs
The MeloDeacs are Wake Forest’s only co-ed, service a cappella group. We perform at community service events such as Project Pumpkin and Delta Zeta’s Learn to Listen a cappella concert which benefits the Starkey Hearing Foundation. Formed in 2014, we are WFU’s newest a cappella group. Our repertoire consists of pop music from artists ranging from Dua Lipa to Adele to Bruno Mars.
This event is open to all.
