Friday Faculty Lectures

Faculty Lecture about Teaching Jane Austen

Over the years, families have consistently expressed interest in attending classes or having other interaction with our WFU faculty during Family Weekend. With this in mind, this year we’ll be expanding our faculty lectures. In addition to Dr. Jenny Puckett’s wonderful Saturday morning lecture about the rich history of “Mother So Dear”, we’ve added two Friday lectures that promise to be equally fascinating. If you’ll be arriving early in the day on Friday, be sure to attend these faculty talks in Pugh Auditorium:

11:00 AM “Promoting Good Character in the University: How Can We Do It, and Should We Even Bother?”
Presented by Dr. Christian Miller, A.C. Reid Professor of Philosophy

1:00 PM “Cultivating Virtue in the University: Teaching Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice at Wake Forest”
Presented by Dr. Jessica Richard, Associate Professor and Chair of English
